SUZUKI AUTO MAINTAINS SALES PACE IN APRIL 2008
- Suzuki sales up 5 percent for month
- April sales bring 2008 volume to 36,099 vehicles
BREA, Calif., (May 1, 2008) – American Suzuki Motor Corp. today announced automotive sales of 9,669 units in April, an increase of 5 percent over last year’s April sales total. Year-to-date sales stand at 36,099 vehicles.
April sales were led by Suzuki’s midsize crossover SUV, the XL7, which sold an impressive 3,082 units, an increase of 33 percent over 2007. The SX4 model line also contributed to Suzuki’s April increase with 2,860 units sold, up 119 percent year-over-year.
“Although auto industry sales have been tempered this year by many factors, including the rising cost of fuel, we’re pleased to report an increase in monthly sales, keeping us on track to maintain our growth throughout 2008,” said Mark Harano, president of American Suzuki Automotive Operations. “Suzuki offers fuel-efficient, affordable, fun-to-drive vehicles, which not only cater to value-conscious consumers, but those with an appetite for driving exhilaration.”
