August 01, 2002 - SUZUKI's 140 horsepower four-stroke outboard is now available with counter rotation. Taking into account this motor's proven strong performance, fuel efficiency and superior power-to-weight ratio, it's now an even better choice for power catamarans, large center consoles and other saltwater fishing boats.

Counter rotation helps minimize the effects of prop torque when running twin engines at planing speeds, providing an even ride and easier handling. Counter rotation also provides additional control in tight quarters, such as when docking or maneuvering in crowded marinas. When you combine these benefits with high performance, a compact in-line four-cylinder design and a ready-to-rig weight of just 421 pounds, it's easy to see why these motors make the "perfect twins."

"More and more fishermen are taking outboard-powered boats farther offshore," said Larry Vandiver, marketing director for SUZUKI MARINE, "and our twin 140s give them amazing fuel economy, better boat handling characteristics, not to mention more power - and more peace of mind."

With SUZUKI's proven multi-point sequential electronic fuel injection, the DF140 delivers fuel efficiency and crisp performance while meeting both 2006 EPA and California Air Resources Board (CARB) three-star, ultra-low emissions standards.

The SUZUKI DF140 is packed with innovative design features inside and out, starting with an exclusive new engine cover design with a large air induction port for maximum airflow. Its considerable list of high-tech qualifications includes a dual overhead cam, four valves per cylinder, an offset driveshaft located under the powerhead, a 4-into-2-into-1 exhaust system, a water-cooled, long-track intake manifold and the industry's first water-cooled oil cooler.
