February 13, 2003 (MIAMI) - Suzuki Marine was honored today with the prestigious National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) 2003 Innovation Award at the Miami International Boat Show, further cementing the company's position as "The World Leader in Fuel-Injected Four-Strokes."

Suzuki's new fuel-injected 250 Horsepower V6 four-stroke outboard was voted the most innovative new product in the competitive Engines/Motors/Propulsion category by a panel of leading journalists from Boating Writers International (BWI). This new 2004 model - the world's first 250 horsepower V-6 four-stroke - heads a line-up of new 2004 V-6 four-strokes that also includes 200 and 225 horsepower models.

Suzuki Marine has now garnered four NMMA Innovation Awards - including back-to-back honors for its 60/70 and 40/50 horsepower EFI four-stroke outboards. "We've appreciated each and every award, but none is sweeter than this," said Larry Vandiver, director of sales and marketing for Suzuki Marine. "It sends a loud-and-clear message to the factory that we're on the right track developing new engines to meet the needs of the marine industry and America's boating enthusiasts."

These motors feature a host of technological advancements, including digital sequential electronic fuel injection and solid state ignition controlled by a powerful 32-bit onboard computer. Additional features include an all-new 24-valve powerhead with 3.6 liter displacement, a narrow V-design block and offset driveshaft for compact size and improved balance, a powerful new lower unit, a new induction system and variable valve timing (on the 250).
